Nowadays up to 50% of our total production of BasFiberPro® goes to the geogrids and construction mesh manufacturing.
Use of BasFiberPro® in construction application allows to considerably increase the quality of road pavement and construction structures, to increase service life by 3-5 years and time between overhauls by 15%, decelerate the process of cracks and rutting formation compared to meshes produced of Е-glass.
This is the reason why more and more construction companies around the world use different types of andesite-basalt mesh and geogrid in their projects and why more and more mesh manufacturers begin production of andesite-basalt geogrid and mesh instead of traditional products made out of E-glass and other types of fiber.
Sewing-knitting technology, used for mesh production, allows to achieve the best realization of physical and mechanical properties of andesite-basalt fiber in the end product.
Andesite-basalt reinforcing mesh with alkali resistant coating was developed to prevent cracks as well as for reinforcement of mortars and non load bearing concrete.
The higher tensile strength of this product, compared to E-glass or steel, increases impact resistance and prevents from cracks appearance. This mesh can meet the expectations and strict requirements of most demanding companies from construction market.
Our high-performance, alkali-resistant andesite-basalt mesh will not rot, rust or corrode, and it provides increased strength in different cementitious applications. Thanks to its lightweight, easy install and use andesite-basalt mesh BasFiberPro® will be superior alternatives to steel.

Kamenny Vek offers new andesite-basalt scrims with a cell size of 3.5 x 3.5 and 4.5 x 4.5 mm. Possible applications for andesite-basalt scrim includes but not limited by: reinforcement of the plaster layer for both interior and exterior works, making of self-leveling floors, preventing cracking in gypsum plasterboards, insulation of vessels, tanks, oil and gas pipelines.

Geo reinforcing mesh is designed for pavement reinforcement. It’s successfully used in construction, repair and renovation of roads and acts as a reinforcement layer. The key functions of material are even distribution of external load over the whole roadway surface, stress-relieving of asphalt concrete pavement and also tensile strength improvement of finish asphalt coat.
BasFiberPro® mesh clothes for roads are placed on a pre-cleaned surface with a bitumen emulsion applied. Good adhesion of andesite-basalt geogrid with pavement base is achieved by means of bitumen-polymer dispersion, the BasFiberPro® mesh is impregnated with. The impregnating composition, as well as andesite-basalt fiber itself, is environment friendly.
To simplify the process of reinforcement geogrid rolling on road base, andesite-basalt geogrid is produced both with open cell and closed cell. Closed cell protects roller from bitumen pickup, which significantly accelerates the placement process.
BasFiberPro® andesite-basalt reinforcement geogrid is produced of high-quality continuous andesite-basalt fiber, which considerably outperforms in all parameters Е-glass, often used in mesh for roads production:
Mesh window size, mm | 25 x 25
Surface density, g/m2 | 320 ± 10
Breaking load, kN/m | Warp > 100,0
Weft > 100,0 | ||
Elongation at break, % | 4 ± 1%
Roll width, m | 1; 2; 4 | |
Roll length, m | 50 |
Under heat cycling and external mechanical loads asphalt concrete pavement is stretched. It results in micro cracks formation in the film of impregnating composition on geogrid, produced of Е-glass, therefore reinforcing fiber remains unprotected against moisture and salts agents, which are widely used in winter.
Salt solution action leads to destruction of such grid, with the result that the road pavement remains without reinforcement layer.
Since andesite-basalt fiber has five times greater chemical resistance compared to glass fiber, BasFiberPro® geogrids isn’t destroyed under salts solutions action and successfully performs its reinforcing functions under all operating conditions.
Besides that, because of extremely low hydroscopicity of andesite-basalt fiber, natural fiber corrosion process in the BasFiberPro® grids for roads goes considerably slower, than in case of E-glass mesh.
Thus, BasFiberPro® geogrid application allows to considerably increase the quality of road pavement, to increase service life and time between overhauls, decelerate the process of cracks and rutting formation compared to grids produced of Е-glass.
